12th FIT Open “ Zhong Jian Cup” Table Tennis
Championships
The Zhong Jian Cup - 12 thFIT
Open Table Tennis Championship was
a great success. Thirty two players competed in the
eight round robins in the Open event. The two finalists were the same as
the previous 11th FIT Open which was
held this past November.
The
Open Championship Event was won by
Ernesto Ebuen, second place was Wu (Jennifer) Yue. The semi-finalists
were Samson Dubina, a 2009 US National Team Member to the
World Championships in Japan now living in Ohio and Kazuyuki
Yokayama, originally
from Japan now living in New York City and playing at the famous
Spin NYC Club.
There were more than 175 participants that
attended this tournament and many more spectators that took
advantage of the free admission, great
play and comradery that was felt by everyone. This event has
been very popular with our New York Metro Asian Community and most of the Junior
events were won by players from Korean, Japanese or Chinese
origins.
We were very fortunate to have

and the continuing support of Fashion
Institute of Technology University and Sport
Director Kerri McTiernan.
Finally we would like to thank all the participants and
spectators that made this tournament so exciting and a huge
success.
